The Horologist is a watch collector’s lifestyle brand that aims to redefine the watch industry with its approach to lifestyle and watch care. Aligned with their core focus on inclusivity and sustainability, The Horologist pays homage to the legacy of horology as a tradition of care, and offers a community platform for trading watches and a new product line for restoration and effortless maintenance. 

House of Forme worked with the client on their brand concept, positioning, visual identity, online and offline branding collaterals, and the production of their first flagship product.

Contracting the Universe on a Dial. 

House of Forme took a systematic and unconventional approach when designing the brand mark, taking inspiration from the legacy of horology, when mankind looked at the sun and the moon to indicate the passing of time. The iconic shape also serves as an homage to a watch’s moon phase dial, forming a distinctive brand image unique to the art of horology. Adjusted according to function and use, the chronological phases of the moon are systematically applied to the different business pillars of the brand’s product system.

 
 
 
 

Embracing Connection Beyond the Buying Experience.

Our vision for The Horologist’s brand identity purposefully engages in timeless and versatile palettes that counter the predominantly gendered designs of the watch industry. With inclusivity and community forming a main business pillar of the brand, quotes from famous horologists of past centuries are inscribed on our collateral designs, recording a tradition of care passed down generations, made accessible for the modern citizen. 

 
 
 
 

Refining Cycles of Sustainability.

With the goal of platforming sustainable luxury, our designs for The Horologist predominantly make use of raw and recyclable materials. From the rotating double-sided instruction manual, to the personal thank you cards that add a human touch, our designs are laced in black and silver foiling, with branded Pantone printing and textured FSC certified papers. To make for a fully sustainable product experience, the e-commerce box is recyclable, protective, and compact for easy accessibility and storage.
