The Bakerism Cityplaza

Devotion to Indulgence and Elegance.

The Bakerism, celebrated for its exquisite cream cakes made with only the finest natural ingredients, has arrived at Cityplaza with its first-ever pop-up. At the heart of their creations is fresh cream sourced directly from Hokkaido, Japan—a dedication to quality that delivers an unparalleled sensory experience: the milkiest, freshest, and smoothest indulgence imaginable.

This collaboration with House of Forme was born from a passion for authentic storytelling, and a mission to share their unique flavours with a broader audience. Far beyond a simple store, the snow-inspired, cake-like design of the pop-up is itself a statement, crafted to boost brand awareness and create a impactful experience.

House of Forme worked with the client on the brand environment and interior design.

Thawing of the Early Spring Snow.

Inspired by Hokkaido’s springtime, where the melting snow marks the end of the long winter, unveiling the long hibernated Earth, this pop-up is a celebration of renewal of life. The sense of layers of melt is evoked by the circular ceiling of the pop-up structure, which also mirrors layers of cake packed with fresh cream. Like the delicate layers of melting frost, the sculptural circular ceiling reveals The Bakerism’s signature cream cakes, each one a masterpiece of Hokkaido’s freshest dairy and seasonal fruits — a delicious surprise.

Designed as a sleek, spiraling pavilion, the pop-up blends fluid aesthetics with precision engineering, Its intuitive layout ensures smooth operation, from the curated display of artisanal cakes to the effortless flow of packing, payment and takeaway, all while accommodating generous storage.

The structure's stability is ensured through innovative engineering. Load-bearing columns are discreetly integrated, doubling as overhead supports, maintaining the elegant circular design without compromising strength. It is a seamless blend of aesthetic and structural ingenuity, where every detail is meticulously considered, and is refreshing to the eyes.

The Artistry of Cake Craft.

The pop-up’s exterior features textured walls in melting cream hues,  their soft yellow-to- brown gradient mirrors both the gentle melt of snow and The Bakerism’s layered cakes. A signature bronze seal decorates the front of the structure, marking this as a destination for indulgence.

Signages are a major element for a clear presentation to visitors. Melting bronze signs, one of the brand colours, guide gusts between ordering and pickup areas, hanging below the snow-inspired ceiling to complete the thawing snow scene.

Inside, backlit glass bricks glow with a delicate warmth. Their crystalline radiance captures both fresh snowfall and the brand’s luscious cakes. Every material selection, from transparent surfaces to tactile finishes, create an environment where the patisserie becomes a delicate and inviting sensory experience.

A Luminous Oasis in the Mall.

Situated in a bustling mall with high foot traffic, the pop-up is designed to be a beacon of refined elegance. To stand out against the mall's dim lighting, a lighting scheme has been artfully implemented. Bespoke wall sconces, shaped like delicate cream filters, cast a soft ambient glow that wraps visitors in warmth. At its heart, a central LED lightbox acts as a focal point. Its precise illumination highlights both the structures’s graceful curves and the exquisite cake displays. The thoughtful placement of light ensures every detail remains unmissable to passersby.
